Survivorship Webinar – How service dogs can help people with PTSD

Survivorship Webinar – How service dogs can help people with PTSD

Another great webinar coming up!

Survivorship webinars are open to everybody, not just Survivorship members, and are easy to join. If you can make a telephone call and click a button you are technically savvy enough to attend a Webinar. They are informal and survivor-friendly. You can take breaks if you need or ask for on-line or e-mail support if you get overwhelmed. They are informative and a great way to feel less isolated and they are totally private. There is no camera and you can choose any user name you wish. CEUs may be available upon request.

Saturday, July 13
12:00 noon Pacific Time
Presenter: Lisa Ann Gray
“What a service dog is and how service dogs can help people with PTSD.”

Lisa Ann Gray will present about what a service dog is, how service dogs can help people with PTSD and the different options for training service dogs: non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations, training your own service dog or attending a service dog training school.

Lisa Ann Gray retired after 25 years working in Corporate America as a Computer Analyst in order to start training and placing service dogs with people who live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  She is a survivor and have been living with PTSD most of my life.  She became clean and sober in 1990 and started having flashbacks soon after that. She has been in therapy since then and has made a lot of progress in her life.  She is looking forward to giving back now to other survivors and hopefully helping them feel a little safer in the world.  She has seen the first-hand benefits of how service dogs can help disabled people and veterans with PTSD. She’d like to bring PTSD service dogs to the survivor community as well.
